Davius Nursery – Wildflowers for sale:

Ajuga Reptans

This is a resilient beautiful wildflower which will support beneficial important insect species. If you put one of these into the ground, it will sprout out many more flowering Ajuga Reptans in the immediate diameter to the original wildflower.

Very few purchases are required of this incredible plant; it will multiply outwards and the new black leaf pods will grow into the ground around the original Ajuga Reptan wildflower.

After several months – you may simply cut the new shoots/pods away and put them in new pots to grow / transport elsewhere in your garden. Some people like to use them to lace the sides of their paths a with a rich dense black sea of leaves (with the occasional blue flowering heads).

Again – very few purchases are necessary (unless you are covering significant large space) as for the observant amongst you, very tiny seedlings will come from this beautiful plant – seeding themselves in the nearby ground. Once you find the new seedlings; you can plant in new pots and begin a new generation of Betony plants to give to your neighbours, friends and families.

They grow best in ancient woodlands (where few people impede these precious places less) and can reproduce by themselves asexually is need be. Purchasing a few will result in an eventual sea of blue leaves in your garden/green space project.

Although Davius Nursery has a healthy stock of these Foxglove wildflowers, you only need purchase a few of these if you have a small gardening space. In successive years it will propagate many seedlings around the original plant, which you can easily pot up and place elsewhere in your garden. For farmers or Beekeepers looking to increase their bee support biological mechanisms a few dozen foxgloves will benefit your beehives.

WARNING: For the sake of transparency – even though Foxgloves are a known cardiac medicine, they are also potentially toxic and if you (or your children) eat large volumes of the leaves they are potentially poisonous; hence we discourage irresponsible planting of foxgloves in areas where children may work/play.
